2012 Louisville Slugger TPX EXOGRID2 BBCOR is one of the most innovative bats to ever hit the market. This bat starts out with Louisville Slugger’s SC21 Scandium Alloy which is one of the most durable and responsive alloys on the market. Moving toward the handle you’ll find that the metal is trimmed into a grid-like pattern and replaced with carbon composite inserts. These inserts are several times stronger than the metal they replace which gives the EXOGRID2 not only it’s name, but it’s unwavering durability. Inside the bat, the heart of the EXOGRID2 can be found in the form of an internal carbon composite sleeve. This provides greater handle stiffness than alloy alone ever could. All of these parts are brought together using Louisville Slugger’s EXOGRID Bi/Fusion Process, where a combination of heat and extreme pressure bond everything into a single, solid unit. New for the BBCOR model this year is Power Disc Technology. Two independent discs are positioned inside the barrel to allow for peak performance around the sweetspot, and providing an oversized hitting surface and balanced swing weight.
